How and where did it all started?
It all started when two strangers met while studying in NAFA. Shafiq, being the outgoing and loud one and Desmond, the guy with the RBF. Both of us had the same dreams and goal in mind to have a design studio of our own and make an impact on the community.
So what did we do in NAFA which leads to all these....
In the beginning, we had to do modules which we thought were not relevant to the interior design scene. We had to do things like portrait drawings, pointillism and sculptures etc. Never did we know that all these would eventually help us in the future. For example, drawing portraits let us know the importance of proportions.
More importantly, we are also exposed to students who are majoring in different courses, some in fine arts, film making and even graphic designs and more. This actually allows us to understand and learn more about different art methodology. There are also many from other countries that give us an opportunity to learn about different countries' design trends and cultures.
In our final year, we have to come out with our own topic and from there we are to derive to a situation in Singapore and solve the problem in our society. Our FYP actually lets us also learn about how Interior design can be used to help people, it is not just about being nice and beautiful. Our design can actually tell a story and serve a purpose by itself
